William Mattar 4 Code Blue Campaign

The William Mattar Law Offices created the 4 Code Blue campaign to raise awareness of the Rescue Mission Alliance, and other Code Blue homeless shelters throughout the area through commercials and news segments airing on local TV stations during the month of February. “Code Blue” is a term used when outside temperatures with wind chill have dropped below 32 degrees. During Code Blue evenings and overnights, individuals experiencing homeless are urged to seek emergency shelter, and no one is turned away from shelter.

The cold weather in Syracuse during the winters can be brutal from plummeting temperatures to feet of snow.  For people experiencing homelessness, those winter days can be life threatening and agencies like the Rescue Mission Alliance work to bring those on the streets inside where it is warm along with providing item such as hats, gloves, coats, and socks. Additionally, the Rescue Mission Street Outreach team is on the street six days a week, looking to assist those who are experiencing homelessness outdoors, with an aim to build trust, and bring them into shelter.

The William Mattar 4 Code Blue campaign highlights the lifesaving operations of Code Blue, and the need for donations, supplies, and volunteers at the Rescue Mission Alliance during the winter months.

“Code Blue is serious. For the homeless, it means extreme cold and a need for emergency shelter,” says attorney William Mattar.
