By visiting Rescue Mission websites, including rescuemissionalliance.org, ishopthrifty.org, our social media platforms and our events and donations platforms, you accept the practices described in this policy.
DATA COLLECTION AND USE
Rescue Mission websites provide convenient ways to access information about the Rescue Mission, our stores, opportunities, and events. We collect information directly from our website visitors (“personal information”) and indirectly from companies that provide data to us (“anonymous information”).
When you use our websites or social media channels to sign up for emails, make a financial contribution, register for an event, apply to volunteer or for employment, we may ask for your name, postal address, phone number(s), email, date of birth, and other information relevant to the transaction. We will ask for credit card or banking details when you make a financial contribution, register for event, or make a purchase.
We obtain information about our online visitors from other sources as well. For example, we engage vendors that provide contact information and other data. We use this data to engage with people who may be interested in participating in Rescue Mission activities or providing a financial gift to the Rescue Mission.
We use gathered personal information to communicate with our supporters, request donations, and to process their transactions. We do not sell, share, or trade our supporters’ personal or anonymous information, except as described below. We do not send communications or mailings on behalf of other companies or organizations.
The Rescue Mission contracts with third-party vendors to provide services on our websites and for some administrative and marketing operations. The information you submit on our websites and social media channels may be provided to those vendors on a confidential basis so they can provide services on our behalf (such as data storage and maintenance, and credit card processing). The Rescue Mission also reserves the right to share information with legal authorities in response to a legal order or official request.
The Rescue Mission does not knowingly collect information about children under the age of 13. Please do not submit information about children under the age of 13 years old, or do not submit information about yourself if you are under the age of 13.
Rescue Mission websites have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We maintain additional physical and procedural safeguards to help prevent unauthorized access to personal and financial identifiable information.
No method of digital information transmission or electronic data storage is 100 percent secure. However, we strive to protect your personal information, and work to maintain and update security protocols and procedures.
