DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

Donors and supporters of the Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse NY (“Rescue Mission”) make it possible for the Rescue Mission to put love into action through shelter, food, clothing, and hope.
The Rescue Mission believes in protecting the privacy of our financial, gift-in-kind, and event supporters, whether that support is made online, by mail, or any other method. The following Donor Privacy Policy communicates how the Rescue Mission maintains and protects the personal information that donors provide, including your name, phone number, postal address, email address, credit card, or other financial information from a contribution or event registration.
WHO ARE RESCUE MISSION DONORS?
Rescue Mission donors include anyone who makes a financial or gift-in-kind contribution to our organization, including those who have registered or purchased tickets to Rescue Mission fundraising events.
SECURITY
The Rescue Mission is committed to protecting your financial information, and has implemented physical and digital practices to prevent unauthorized access, misuse or alteration of personal and financial identifiable information.
On our donation and registration websites, please make note of the domain name in your website URL. Please ensure the name begins with “https,” which indicates the website is encrypted. In addition to this encryption, our donation pages are designed to comply with industry standards using the following platforms: Weblinks, DonorPerfect, AKARaisin, and Double the Donation. These platforms contain additional security tools to provide donors with a secure means to give online.
No method of digital information transmission or electronic data storage is 100 percent secure. However, we strive to protect your personal information, and work to maintain and update security protocols and procedures.
DATA USE AND INFORMATION SHARING
The Rescue Mission will use personal information gathered to communicate with donors via postal mail, email, or phone to update on Rescue Mission news, or to solicit financial support for the Rescue Mission.
The Rescue Mission does not sell, share, or trade our supporters’ personal or anonymous information, except as described below. The Rescue Mission does not send communications or mailings on behalf of other companies or organizations.
The Rescue Mission contracts with third-party vendors to provide services on our websites and for some administrative and marketing operations. The information you submit on our websites and social media channels may be provided to those vendors on a strict, confidential basis so they can provide services on our behalf (such as data storage and maintenance, and credit card processing). The Rescue Mission also reserves the right to share information with legal authorities in response to a legal order or official request.
