The Rescue Mission Alliance is pleased to welcome Samuel J. Cosamano to its Board of Directors. In September 2020, Cosamano, President of IPD Engineering, joined the board consisting of 15 community leaders who are dedicated to helping men, women, and families struggling with homelessness in Central New York.
A trained engineer from Utica, NY, Cosamano has a reputation for developing creative design solutions to complex projects. He is dedicated to sustainable and practical design. He founded IPD Engineering in the fall of 2009, and in 2014 was named a recipient of one of the CNY Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 awards.
Cosamano and his team at IPD Engineering have been part of numerous groundbreaking projects in Central New York, including a geothermal system for Pike Block, which utilizes a brine aquifer flowing beneath the city of Syracuse, to heat and cool 30,000 square feet of commercial space in the downtown historic redevelopment project. Some of his more recent notable projects include the Hotel Syracuse, a COVID Test Kit facility in Auburn that will produce more than 10 million rapid test kits per month, and an Energy Center for the new Utica Hospital.
Cosamano believes in working hard, which he learned from his father and other role models in his life. His passion for making the built environment a safe, healthy and inspiring place for all members of society, and for doing his part to help enrich the lives of those who are less fortunate, have made him a perfect fit for the Rescue Mission’s Board of Directors.
The Rescue Mission Alliance, founded in Syracuse in 1887, has a long history of serving those in need. Beyond meeting basic needs of food, clothing and shelter, The Rescue Mission helps its clients develop a plan to permanently leave homelessness and hunger behind.
