Auburn Rescue Mission Receives Grants

The Auburn Rescue Mission has received two grants this spring for use towards operating expenses.

The Big Lots Foundation has awarded $2,500 to the Auburn Rescue Mission for general operating expenses through the foundation’s Spring Exclaim Grant program. The Auburn Rescue Mission also received $15,000 from the Cayuga Community Fund to provide food and household items, and support for ongoing programs.

The Auburn Rescue Mission provides supportive housing for families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. The Auburn Rescue Mission has 28 units of affordable housing for families in need. All residents have access to the neighborhood community center, food/clothing pantry, Employment Resource Center and laundry facilities.

Case managers work with families to achieve their highest level of stability and independence. Case managers also assist homeless families temporarily housed by the Cayuga County Department of Health and Human Services to find permanent housing and connect with other key services.
