Volunteers Bring the Holiday Spirit
Dear Friends of the Rescue Mission,
I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! October has arrived and the holidays are right around the corner. Our volunteers make this season so special by bringing the spirit of generosity to those who are hungry and homeless in our community.
Although 2020 has brought many challenges as we’ve faced the COVID-19 pandemic, we still want to bring the warmth and joy of the holidays to the people we serve this holiday season. We expect some changes for both Thanksgiving and Christmas as we continue working to keep our clients, staff and volunteers safe through social distancing, mask wearing and following health department protocols. We will have fewer volunteers on campus, and we will be unable to hold some of our traditional events including the Cookie Bake.
While we won’t be able to have as many volunteers join us on campus this year, we hope that you will help us provide holiday joy in other ways. Whether you shop for an individual or family who might otherwise not receive any holiday gifts, donate a turkey or ham, or if you’d like to provide winter gear for those in our programs, we appreciate your support even though we can’t be together this holiday season.
Thank you for putting your love into action during these uncertain and unprecedented times. Please call our holiday phone line at
315-701-3898 for more information on giving a gift. We’ve also enclosed a list of the special holiday needs we have in your area (see reverse side).
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions and concerns! Thank you for all you do to support the Rescue Mission. We cannot wait to see you all again.
Gratefully,
Dan Sieburg, Rescue Mission Alliance CEO
