Chief Executive Officer
Dan leads the multi-regional Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse that serves thousands of individuals a year with programs in Syracuse, Auburn, Binghamton and Ithaca.
Under his leadership, the organization is one of the first missions to rapidly expand new progressive housing models and is placing more than 700 people a year into permanent housing.
Dan holds an undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland and a Master’s in Social Work from Syracuse University. He has spoken nationally regarding the issues that people experiencing homelessness face. He has also addressed the most effective solutions needed to assist these individuals.
Locally, Dan chairs the board of the Housing and Homeless Coalition of Central New York collaborating with homelessness task forces and boards. He is a proven leader that builds consensus among stakeholders and keeps the needs of those served by the Rescue Mission at the very core of its programs.
Chief Operations Officer
Corey provides day to day organizational leadership and management as well as strategic direction and oversight to capital projects across the organization. Corey oversaw the Rescue Mission’s largest building project to date – a $7.2 million day center and emergency shelter in Syracuse – and is now working on a $16.7 million project that will create 128 permanent housing units. Corey has served in various positions with the Rescue Mission since 2003.
Chief Development Officer
Carolyn leads the Rescue Mission’s outreach to contributors and charitable foundations, and is the key contact for planned giving. She has been with the Rescue Mission since 1997. She is a 1996 participant of Leadership Greater Syracuse, and a graduate of Syracuse University. Carolyn enjoys building long-term relationships and opportunities to partner with other organizations and agencies on projects that helps change lives at the Rescue Mission.
Chief Financial Officer
Jim is in charge of the finance and accounting functions at the Rescue Mission and is responsible for ensuring that proper internal controls are in place to protect the assets of the organization. Jim has been with the Rescue Mission since 2014 after spending 30 years in the health care/insurance industry and in public accounting. A Syracuse native, Jim is a graduate of Syracuse University and a CPA. Jim serves on the following nonprofit boards: the Syracuse University Men’s Basketball Hardwood Club, The Centers at St. Camillus, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse and Empire Housing and Development Corporation. He also serves on several oversight committees at the Diocese of Syracuse.
Chief Information Officer
As a seasoned IT professional, Mitch has served the Rescue Mission since 1992. He has served as the CIO at Community General Hospital, Executive VP at the Health Alliance of CNY, and CIO at Canadian Pacific (US) Inc. Mitch was the Vice President of Operations at Touchette Corporation. He has been a guest presenter at Syracuse University’s iSchool for several years. Mitch founded the Rescue Mission’s Digital Bridge Program to train guests at our shelter and day center in computer and technology skills.
